Museum Audio Tours + App

I led the development of three bespoke audio tours and oversaw the integration into a mobile app, collaboratively designed by Cuseum, for the Historic Charleston Foundation. The project involved comprehensive research, content creation, recording, and management of all client, talent, and vendor relationships, from conceptualization through to execution and launch. Visit the app here.

The resulting app features three distinct audio tours, encompassing narratives for two historic house museums and a City Guide, comprising over 60 audio stops inclusive of interviews with renowned experts and residents of Charleston. Complementing these narratives is an interactive map showcasing additional preservation stories throughout Charleston.

My team tailored the app to resonate with the Foundation's preservation ethos while infusing a youthful vibrancy and engagement to captivate younger demographics. We made a concerted effort to spotlight the often overlooked narratives of marginalized communities within Charleston, including those of enslaved individuals, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Upon its release, the app garnered significant acclaim, amassing 15,000 downloads within the initial three-month period and receiving commendations from media outlets such as The New York Times.
